Would you know what to do in a cardiac, breathing or first aid emergency? The right answer could help you save a life. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, our First Aid/CPR/AED course gives you the skills to help save a life.
Led by knowledgeable instructors, our in-person course combines lecture with hands-on skills sessions. Perfect for those who learn best in a traditional classroom setting, our in-person classes give you ample time to ask questions and become comfortable with the latest techniques.
What is First Aid?
When you understand first aid, you’ll gain the ability to help those in need. Through our first aid certification classes you’ll learn how to respond to specific situations, which will help you care for people in crisis as they wait for medical professionals to arrive. This gives them the best opportunity for a positive outcome – and gives you the opportunity to change someone’s life for the better.
Designed to help non-medical professionals provide assistance in times of crisis, the first aid portion of this course allows you to gain an understanding of first aid best practices for a wide range of conditions, including:
- Asthma emergencies
- Diabetic emergencies
- External bleeding
- Environmental emergencies
- Heart Attack
- Neck, head and spinal injuries
American Red Cross CPR/AED training courses allow you to learn how – and when – to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Our in class hands on learning style will help you to be ready to deliver care when it’s needed most.
Why Get Certified
The average response time for first responders once 911 is called is 8-12 minutes. For each minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of survival reduces by approximately 10%. Fortunately, with CPR/AED training, which takes just a few short hours, you can gain the skills necessary to help save a life.
Once your training has been successfully completed, you’ll receive a two-year certification in CPR/AED.
American Red Cross CPR training classes give you the information and the skills you need to help adults, children and infants during breathing and cardiac emergencies.
