2013 Spring Soccer is Here!

Program Overview:

IMPACT Soccer is designed to be the premier youth soccer program for boys and girls ages 3-14. IMPACT soccer provides a fun way to enjoy the sport of soccer at a very early age all the way up to our travel and league, all the while learning lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship while in a Christ-centered environment. At the end of the season celebration the children will hear a positive message and have a great time.

Tot-Soccer for ages 3 and 4. This is an interactive experience involving both children and their parents as well as Impact Coaches. The children focus on motor-skill development while learning about the game of soccer. Most of all, it is fun and age appropriate with many great games for the kids to learn. Everyone can score a goal! Children in this league receive a size 3 soccer ball of their own at the beginning of the season. Tot-soccer meets once per week on Tuesdays.

Ages 5-9 are in the Recreation League. Field size and number of players on the field vary by age to allow more action and touches for each player. There are separate divisions for ages 5, 6/7, and 8/9 AND there will be divisions for boys and girls as long as registrations allow it.

Ages 10/11 and 12-14 compete in the City League on Centre Sponsored teams. Games are played at Heritage Park, Blissfield, and Tecumseh. Impact Soccer teams are distinct in this league because practices include a devotional time and the Impact end of the season celebration.

Key Policies:

The Centre develops unique rules for soccer and are tweaked for each age level based on best practices and league experience. Also note that rules will gradually tighten through the year as the children develop more and more skill.
League registrations may be capped based on field space. Please register as early as possible to ensure a slot!
Practice locations will range from The Centre grounds to local churches.
Game locations are primarily at The Centre, but depending on league size will include other locations.
Teams are balanced competitively based on evaluations. Beyond that we will honor parent/child and sibling relationships within the same league. Requests for particular practice times and/or friends will be honored when possible, but cannot be guaranteed given the size of the league.
Parents and fans are expected to model positive, Christ-honoring behavior and sportsmanship at all times. While we aim for no mistakes on or off the field, they will happen. We expect parents to work along side the Impact team to resolve situations quickly and for the benefit of the children.
All coaches are required to pass a state and national background check. Previous soccer experience is preferred. If you are not comfortable giving team devotions, our staff will assist you or we will match you with a partner coach that is gifted that way.
Volunteers are vital to this league. Please prayerfully consider helping out, whether it is as a coach, a scorekeeper, a referee, or concession worker.
