Overview:

Impact Cheerleading began in 2010 and is organized to give basic instruction to girls, grades 1-6. The program is designed to teach young girls techniques of cheerleading along with a great way to be physically active in a Christ-centered environment.  The season is also filled with great devotions that use sports and cheerleading to develop life skills from a Biblical perspective.  The Impact Cheerleaders perform during games, at halftimes, and at our end of the season celebration.  Practices may include basic tumbling skills as well.  Some teams even make posters to support the basketball teams as well as forming a spirit tunnel or two!

Key Dates:

• Cheerleading is available in the Fall for football and the Winter for basketball.
• Fall cheer Registrations typically open in August with the season running from September to November.
• Winter cheer Registrations typically open in October with the season running from January to March.

Cheerleading Coach – Jennifer Rankin

Jennifer Rankin is the Varsity cheerleading coach at LCS. She has been involved with cheerleading since she was 6 years old, and has coached for the last 10 years. Jennifer has previously coached Napoleon (MI) High School varsity competitive cheer, Onsted MS Competitive and basketball sideline, Onsted junior varsity, and Reed City junior varsity cheer. Jennifer has been married for 8 years, and has 2 young daughters. Jennifer is currently attending the University of Michigan and is majoring in business.

Key Policies:

• Devotions shared at practice
• The Centre, along with coaches, develop unique cheerleading opportunities for each sport and each age level.
• League registrations may be capped based on gym space.  Please register as early as possible to ensure a slot!
• Practice locations will range from The Centre to local church gyms.
• Game locations are primarily at The Centre, but depending on league size will include other locations.
• Parents and fans are expected to model positive, Christ-honoring behavior and sportsmanship at all times.  While we aim for no mistakes on or off the court or field, they will happen.  We expect parents to work along side the Impact team to resolve situations quickly and for the benefit of the children.
• All coaches are required to pass a state and national background check.  Previous cheerleading experience is preferred.  If you are not comfortable giving team devotions, our staff will assist you or we will match you with a partner coach that is gifted that way.
• Volunteers are vital to this league.  Please prayerfully consider helping out, whether it is as a coach, a scorekeeper, a referee, or concession worker.
